This information is for sponsored entrants who selected 2026 as their preferred year of entry, following the cancellation of the 2025 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon due to infrastructure and route damage caused by dangerously high winds. In response to the cancellation, title sponsor Sanlam offered every 2025 marathon entrant a sponsored entry for either May 2026 or 2027.
The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is Africa's first Abbott World Marathon Majors Candidate.
Entering its final year of candidacy in 2026, this global city, fast-paced marathon is suited to a range of running enthusiasts, from elite athletes to social runners.
The weekend extends beyond the road marathon, and we’re proud to offer inclusive events for all, including the 10km and 5km Peace runs, as well as three incredible Table Mountain trail runs – 43km, 22km, and 11km - entries for which can be purchased here.

Entries issued under the sponsored entry initiative are not refundable, transferrable or deferrable after entry selection has been submitted.
You must be 18 years or older by the date of the event (24 May 2026) to participate in the 42.2km Road Marathon.
T-shirts are included with entry for the 42.2km Road Marathon.
T-shirt sizes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on stock availability. Size changes can be made for a limited period only, while stocks last.
