The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is Africa's first Abbott World Marathon Majors Candidate. Entering its final year of candidacy in 2026, this global city, fast-paced marathon is suited to a range of running enthusiasts from elite athletes to social runners.
The weekend extends past the road marathon, and we’re proud to offer inclusive events for all including the 10km and 5km Peace road runs as well as three incredible Table Mountain trail runs - 43km, 22km, and 11km.
Join us as we run towards Africa's first Major.

Participants must meet the minimum age requirement for each event by the event date.
5km Peace Run: 9 years
10km Peace Run: 14 years
11km Cape Town Trail: 18 years
22km Cape Town Trail: 18 years
43km Cape Town Trail Marathon: 20 years
T-shirts are only included with entry for the 42.2km Road Marathon, 22km Trail, and 43km Trail (distances).
No T-shirts are included with entry for the 5km or 10km Peace Runs.
T-shirt sizes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on stock availability. Size changes can be made for a limited period only, while stocks last.
